About the position

DataBeacon is currently seeking a back-end developer (Python/JS) with experience with MongoDB (or similar) on AWS (or other public cloud provider) to join its team. As a back-end developer, you will ensure data flows effectively to the front-end and our data science toolkit. You will become a key part throughout the whole lifecycle of the product development, from design to implementation.

Key requirements

  • Outstanding portfolio, GitHub, some professional experience, a relevant bootcamp or a university degree.
  • Master of Python and a web-framework, preferably Flask, though Django is also fine.
  • Understanding of NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB.
  • Proficient cloud architecture and development skills, in one public cloud provider, preferably AWS, though Azure or Google Cloud are also fine.
  • Fundamentals of containerized applications and basic orchestration.
  • Basic configuration of GitLab CI/CD.

In addition to the particular requirements of the position, the following skills will be also be considered:

  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Familiarity working with the Agile Scrum methodology and GitLab version control.
  • Understanding of DevOps culture.
