DevOps and Platform Engineer, Terraform and Kubernetes on AWS

At DataBeacon our mission is to revolutionize the aviation industry using a modern technology stack, open source technologies and lean architectures.

Our first product is SimpliFID, an Aerodrome Flight Information Service (AFIS) that covers most functionalities of a radar system at a fraction of the costs. Built in Rust, Python and TypeScript, it sources data from ADB-S and Mode-S Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR) systems over Asterix CAT021 Surveillance Data Exchange protocol.

Currently, SimpliFID is being certified and deployed in 6 small to mid-sized airports, with another 15+ planned for 2025+. Our main focus is on scalability, security and additional internal projects around real-time data services.
